- "Happy to help if you need anything." (closes without demanding)
- "Appreciate your time on this." (acknowledges effort)
- "No rush — just wanted to flag it." (removes pressure)

What to avoid
Over-apologizing kills the professional half of friendly. Phrases like "I'm so sorry to bother you" or "I know you're super busy but…" undermine your credibility before you've even made the ask. Acknowledge their time once, then make a direct request.
Excessive emoji in business contexts reads as performatively casual and can undermine authority, especially in written form. One emoji in the right place is friendly. Five emojis per message is a different register entirely.
